DAY 2 OYSTERS-5

TASMANIA TRIP ~ DAY 2 OF 3

After an amazingly cosy night at Woodbridge Hill Hideaway, where Michelle and I stayed in two separate cabins, nestled in the trees and forest, high up in the hills of the stunning Woodbridge area about 40-45 mins south of Hobart, and a dinner comprising of some amazing meats, cheeses and goodies collected throughout day 1 of my Tassie trip in Hobart, we awoke the next day to some rather crappy weather. *Boo * BTW ~ Woodbridge Hill hideaway I ha…

Chili Macaroni Cheese

All Images © Katie Quinn Davies Well, I still don’t have my regular camera back and I am all but a fine line away from totally losing my cool with the camera-fixer-man who never calls me to tell me how progress is coming along… So to distract me from calling him and hurling obscenities down the line and seeing as I had the day off today after a hectic past few days work-wise, I decided to make some Macaroni Cheese for dinner of which…

HOBART-15

TASMANIA TRIP ~ DAY 1 OF 3

…ore east and just a ‘tad’ more south than I actually thought I was. Mary outlined some of the places we would be visiting on her tour and she told me to hold off having any brekkie as first-up on our itinerary was a stop at a cheese shop (at 9.30am ~ cheese for brekkie = fantastic!) followed by, wait for it… a whiskey tasting session at 10am… Jeepers! A first even for me as a good, whiskey loving Irish woman, but what a fantastic first! Tassie, I…

Julia sent me a recipe for a simple, home-style, no-fuss ‘Ham and Cheese Pie’ and I have been planning to make this now for quite a few weeks. When I was food shopping the other day my grocery store had a wonderful selection of organic…

WKA_PRAWN XMAS CANAPE

Fresh prawn crostini with caper, green olive and goat’s cheese paste, baby peas and lemon oil

These are wonderful little nibbles for the start of a cocktail party or a dinner. I make them as a pair with my Lobster Crostini (Recipe here) as they pair wonderfully. Very easy to make and incredibly tasty and more-ish. The salty olive and capers make for a good contrast to the creamy cheese and the lemon and peas add freshness and zing. Print Friendly Recipe INGREDIENTS 1/2 cup frozen baby peas Pinch caster sugar 1 tablespoon capers (in vineg…
