August ~ Gourmet Homemade Pizza Ideas

Pizza is without a doubt, all time favourite food. I have loved it since I was a kid when I used to frequent a great pizzeria near my home in Dublin with my father. Whilst waiting for our table I’d watch in awe as the pizza chefs twirled pizza dough high up into the air, I was mesmerized. I told Dad I was, without a doubt; “going to be a pizza maker when I grew up!”. That didn’t quite happen, but I do make pizzas a lot at home. I have my own tried and tested fail-safe pizza base recipe, but for weeknights due to ease of preparation, I often use Lebanese bread as a base, mainly as they work so well. They have an amazing texture ~ crispy and crunchy and make for a superb paper-thin base. I use either White Lite or Wholemeal lite from the brand; Khobz which is readily available in most Aussie supermarkets, I have found this to be my personal fave. I am including some toppings I enjoy eating at home and ones which I often prepare for friends on a weekend night. Great thing with pizza is you can do all your prep beforehand, then just assemble them all together just before cooking. What I also love about using Lebanese bread for pizzas is you get the same result cooking it in a conventional over or ~ my pref.; a stand alone pizza maker. They are cheap ~ approx. $120 and give perfect results every time. I rarely order in good pizza anymore as I can make them so easily at home and I know exactly what’s going on them.
