Photo submissions required ~ Americana Theme

Howdy!
I am planning a new ‘Feature’ blog post which will go live in a couple of weeks ~ rest assured, other bits and pieces in-between now and then
I am looking for good photo submissions which give a great, atmospheric representation of the U.S. (Coney Island shots in particular I am looking for), along with classic diner style pics, West coast Cali lifestyle, Chi-town pizzas, NYC (anything), deep South, West coast desert shots, US cityscape shots and such, etc. etc. etc. basically everything and anything, all considered, the food and recipes I will be including will be varied from all over the U.S. so the more pics I have the better.
I would like them to sit alongside the recipes and the overall photo editorial I am planning, which is all about classic American food/Americana ~ with a retro feel. I will turn the piece into a downloadable Magazine style doc too a little similar to the WKa Xmas post from 2010 (albeit not ‘quite’ so mammoth!)
All photographs will be fully credited with the photographer’s name and link/website details etc. I can’t guarantee all submissions will be used, but I’ll do my best to make them fit within the story.
Mail to send initial low res pics (no larger than A6 @ 72 dpi) = studio@katiequinndavies.com.au
Thanks so much.

What a great project! I’d love to be a part of it, but I’m not in the US! If you ever need photos of Sweden, I’ll be glad to help:)
Thanks Antonia, watch this space, I might just need to call on you in the coming months, am doing a bit of a ‘Round the world in 80 days – or possibly 12 months’ project LOL!
hi Katie – i’d love to send some through – just had 2 trips to the US and got lots of great photos. love your blog so would be so happy to be a part of it
cheers Fiona
I agree with Antonia
this is a great G R E A T project, I can’t wait for it! BUT (there’s always a but!) I’m Italian…so, if you’re planning a future European project I’m here, ready to start
UnaZ – I am planning a 2 week trip to Italy in mid-late August. I ADORE Italy, it’s one of my favourite places in Europe, in particular Siena but this time I am going south to the Amalfi Coast and Positano etc possibly Sicily. I cannot wait. And am so looking forward to all the amazing shots I’ll get. Stunning country. i will most definitely be doing an Italian inspired post very soon. (Possibly in April/May) x
Haha, well, if you would like some photographs of the Netherlands as well in that Europe project, then let me know
What a lovely idea!
Hi. I just sent you a few pics I took on Coney Island. I live in NYC, so I’ll cruise through what I have and send any appropriate to you.
Lesley
This is a great idea, I can’t wait to see what you put together!
Hi Katie, sorry for the double post as I also asked this on Facebook… Is there a specific date you need photos by? Thanks, this sounds like an exciting project!
What a fabulous project Katie! I can’t wait to see what you put together and also cannot wait to send some of my photographs too
Very interesting blog, thanks.
How fun! I’m just new to your blog and am not sure what to expect but I do love how your photography is not only moody and delicious – it’s so fun it makes me, actually, laugh right out loud! Joy!
I was just reading the comments up above. My sister, a devoted foodie, just went to Italy, two autumns ago – Florence, Rome and Tuscany where they stayed in an old farmhouse/vineyard where they had a cooking class. The whole experience was the ultimate in ‘edifying’ – like what food (especially meat) tastes like in heaven, apparently!
I hope you have a wonderful time! =]
Also, my sister, mom and I went to NYC, last spring. I had my camera glued to my hand. How many images would be appropriate to submit for you to consider? (I mean, yes, I would be discerning and not flooding you – urgh! – heh, heh. Is five too many? Oh, I feel so silly….)
Anyway, my husband – carnivore that he is – is really happy that I found your blog, too!
Cheers! =]
Katy
Sounds fabulous – I’m in! I will send some shortly~
K.
What a great idea!
I will be sure to send some pictures soon!
I’ll see what I can find! Sounds like fun!
Hello Katie…What a fantastic project, I look forward to seeing the final product. I sent you a few pictures from my visit to NY a few years back. Thanks!
Yes would love to be a part Katie. When do you need them by?
I have some Iowa farm shots from a recent blog post and live in Chicago. I can go shoot some city shots as well.
Let me know.
Laura
Fantastic idea. I just did a trip to northern CA and will definitely send over some pictures!
Sounds like fun, I live in Manhattan so I’ll head out with my camera this weekend! Do you have a date you need them by?

Hi Katie,
Just emailed you a dozen+ west-coast and desert SW pics. Diner shots included
Hope you enjoy them,
Amanda xx
What a cool idea! Are you interested in photos from the rural Midwest? This is the massive area between the coasts filled with cows, corn, rolling wheat fields, vegetable gardens, and country cooks. I’d happily send photos of the rural landscape both outside and in.
Yep..I would love to take part of it..just in case you ever want some photos od Portugal/Lisbon..until then I will enjoy photos otherone sent
Hey Katie.. great idea!! what kind of photos are you looking for from NYC? how about upstate NY?
When do you need them by? =) I am NYC based and will go out on a photo day trip on Friday!
Thanks for all the great shots so far guys, deadline for submitting pics isn’t for another 3 weeks, so feel free to shoot me through anything you think might be suitable by end Feb, I am working on book design intensely until then so can’t focus on US feature until I get that sorted. Cheers!
I love this project, too. I sent some photos from Chicago, Philadelphia, New York City, and New Haven, CT, home of the first hamburger and some great New Haven-style pizza.
Sounds like another awesome project, will send some pics soon!
I can’t tell yyou how much i enjoy your blog. The wonderful shots and inspiriing foods displayed in a “middle of dinner” kind of way is both homey and refreashing. Best of luck to you on future projects, i can’t wait to see them!
Great project! Are you still accepting photos?
I am from Orlando, Florida
Hi Kiran yes I am, I won’t be uploading the US feature until mid/late March. A tip though – I’ve oodles of Coney Island shots now so best to skip them. Thanks a mill

Hi Katie
Have just been introduced to your blog – love it so far! Am currently in Houston, Texas so I’ll be sending in something from here over the weekend… But I’d be very happy to cover any other interests you may have here, so let me know! Texas is all about food!
