New WKA Online Store

In early August I’ll be launching a new section of the blog - an online store. It will feature a selection of my own prints which I have chosen from my portfolio but I’ll be adding to it on a monthly basis. All prints are 40cm x 50cm (16” x 20”) and are printed on gorgeous cotton rag paper. I will be limiting each print to be sold to a maximum run of 100. They can be shipped anywhere in the world.

I’d be keen to hear if there are specific pictures from the blog which you’d like to see in print format. So please don’t hesitate to let me know. You can contact me at the link on the top right of the page.

I’ll also be selling some beautiful hand-turned bowls which have been made especially for What Katie Ate by a good friend who is based in Suffolk and who has been wood turning for the past 10 years. We met in Sydney and are both now based in the top end of the world. A combination of traditional and contemporary tools and methods are used to create all his products. Traditional green wood working techniques are used as a preference where wood arrives fresh. These include the use of a pole/bowl lathe, shaving horse, axes and knives. However, when seasoned wood is unavailable other methods are used to ensure nothing is wasted.

In addition I have been working with a local Dublin candle maker and together we are producing a range of initially 3 gorgeous scented candles which are packaged beautifully and feature the scents of ingredients used in WKA recipes over the past 10 years.

Thanks
Katie x
