Hard to Find Magazine

Last week I attended a fantastic launch party at Shortgrain restaurant in Sydney's Surry Hills for a new online magazine called htf ~ hard to find.

It was a super night filled packed with wonderful food, flowing cocktails and loads of people from the magazine, stylist and design community. A lot of people may have already heard of hard to find via their existing online shopping site; hardtofind.com.au and yesterday their e-magazine officially went online ~ hence a great reason for their celebratory bash!

The first of its kind in Australia, htf. magazine has been created by high-profile editor, and co-owner of hardtofind., Trudi Jenkins along with her business partner Eri. I know Trudi from my work with Delicious Magazine, where up until a month ago, Trudi was the editor. The new mag is an amazing project, super slick for a first issue so I told Trudi I'd give the magazine a mention here on What Katie ate.

I also was lucky enough to be asked to shoot a story for the first edition which was a lifestyle photo shoot at one of Sydney's most popular waterside eateries; Little Fish bar in Flying Fish restaurant in Pyrmont. You can find info on the restaurant here and executive chef Stephen Seckold has wonderfully given some recipes as part of the photo story, all which are included in the online mag. To download a copy of the magazine and view the recipes, just visit the htf site here. They'd all make for great party food ideas for the upcoming Christmas and holiday season.

There's some really cool items on the site and I've found many a funky Xmas pressie ideas for mates. In particular it's a great site for sourcing ideas for those friends and family who are more difficult to buy for Kris-kringle dilemmas (!)

Check out the site and new mag if you will and pass it around. Cheers! :)

On a side note, things have been just a tad manic for me the past few weeks, as I am moving house (*yay* and *ugh* all rolled into one... I have been packing for 3 weeks and it's just never-ending, juggling it all with work and shoots isn't  the most stress free activity either I can contest... The problem of buying a lot of props, cookbooks and magazines etc etc etc means when you go to move it all from one house to another, all those purchases are not quite so thrilling to lump in boxes everywhere.

Anyway, finally we are moving in this weekend and after next week full of publicity shoots for the What Katie ate book I will thankfully have some time to focus on shooting my Christmas 2012 story for WKA and be able to get back to some regularity on posting on the all new site. Which I hope you are all enjoying.
